The integration of people with a migration history has a long tradition in the district of Hohenlohe. This website offers an overview of the most important points of contact and responsibilities to facilitate participation in everyday life and society.

Refugee aid can be seen as an independent area of volunteer work. Whether as a part of a circle of helpers or through a personal sponsor, volunteers help refugees in their daily lives and provide orientation.

Immigration Office

The Immigration Office is responsible for decisions about the entry, stay, residence and employment of migrants who are temporarily or permanently staying in the district of Hohenlohe.
Responsibilities:   
Immigration Office Öhringen – Öhringen, Pfedelbach, Zweiflingen
Immigration Office Künzelsau – all other 13 cities and municipalities

Asylum Seekers Benefits Office

The district grants benefits in accordance with the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG). The Asylum Seekers Benefits Office also grants benefits in the event of illness, approves referrals to medical specialists and handles their billing. The doctor’s appointments are arranged by the social workers or the housing administration. In addition, benefits for education and participation are granted.

After being recognised as a recognized asylum seeker/refugee, benefits are granted by the Hohenlohe Job Centre on application.

Migration counselling

Youth Migration Service (age 12 – 27)

The Youth Migration Service (JMD) offers young migrants advice, assistance and specific services in various areas. The JMD in the district of Hohenlohe is incorporated into the social welfare associations Kreisdiakonieverband Hohenlohekreis and DRK Kreisverband Hohenlohe e. V.

Migration counselling (from age 27)

Migration counselling for adult migrants in the district of Hohenlohe is offered by Caritas Heilbronn-Hohenlohe within the first three years.

Welcome Points for refugees in the district of Hohenlohe

The District Office of Hohenlohe has established “welcome points” for refugees in Künzelsau and Öhringen. They are intended as meeting points. Volunteers and refugees can meet here to develop and use support and integration services. Both the Künzelsau and Öhringen “welcome points” are equipped with PC workstations (keyboards in Cyrillic and Arabic available), printers and copiers as well as a children's play area, a tea kitchen and seating and meeting facilities. The “welcome points” are open to all refugees in the district of Hohenlohe, regardless of their origin.

The “meeting points” are available for your use should you require a location for your services or workshops upon prior request. You are welcome to visit a welcome point during opening hours for more information.

ATTENTION: apartments or accommodations services are not provided at the welcome points.
